The InnWater project has released its new deliverable D2.2 “Advancing Water Governance: Reference Guide for Programming”, developed within Work Package 2 – Water Governance for Sustainability and Resilience.
This guide is designed as a practical resource for decision-makers, water managers, and practitioners to support the design and implementation of effective governance actions. It translates the findings of water governance assessments into concrete programming solutions, thanks to a set of fact sheets structured around four core dimensions of governance: effectiveness, efficiency, trust & engagement, and resilience & sustainability.
What’s inside?
- A structure grounded in the OECD’s 12 Principles on Water Governance, enriched with additional dimensions related to sustainability.
- A collection of inspiring case studies, drawn from InnWater pilot sites and broader European experiences.
- A programming guide designed to bridge the gap between assessment and action, supporting decision-making across governance levels.
The content of this guide will be integrated into the InnWater Governance Platform, where it will interact with other tools such as the Water Governance Assessment Tool.
This deliverable supports InnWater’s broader ambition to foster innovative, multi-level, and cross-sectoral governance frameworks for water sustainability in Europe and beyond.
