A group of 3 European projects

The synergy group WaterGovernance2027 is composed of three European projects funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programmes HORIZON.2.6 – Food, Bioeconomy Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment and HORIZON.2.6.7 - Circular Systems and specifically, the topic HORIZON-CL6-2022-GOVERNANCE-01-06 – Water governance, economic and financial sustainability of water systems.

Acting to

• Set synergies and complementarities in terms of development, research and communication on water governance solutions in order to reach the EU Green Deal, EU Water Framework Directive and the UN Sustainable Development Goals aims

• Join their efforts and share the experiences on the impact of innovative water governanceschemes across a variety of Europeans settings

In order to

• Develop and test new approaches and instruments for designing, assessing, monitoring and implementing sustainable and equitable water governance systems

• Susport policy makers, water managers and key stakeholders in managing cross-sectoral water use conflict while considering the impacts of climate change

• Provide online tools to raise awareness and endorse on state-of-the-art water governance practices across sectors.

• Achieve wide uptake towards Water-Energy-Food6Ecosystem Nexus stakeholders across key sectors (these could be also listed?) and citizens

• Identify transition pathways and good practices towards sustainable and equitable water use in Europe.
