From 4 to 6 June 2024, InnWater held its second General Assembly in the French island of La Réunion. 3 days full of discussions, brainstorming, review of project achievement and perspectives for future actions.
Day 1: Setting the Stage
The first day opened with some welcoming words and objectives by our coordinator Dr. Natacha Amorsi, followed by key messages on Impact assessment from Astrid Guiffart, our Project officer. We reviewed InnWater's progress and future plans. The afternoon was dedicated to collaborative sessions on Pilot Sites, water governance assessment, and economic modelling tools.
Day 2: Diverse Perspectives on Water Governance
After a morning session where we discuss WEFE tools and Gender topics, we hosted a EU Green Week Partners Event focusing on water governance, with insightful presentations on Mayotte and Cape Town's water crisis management. This was followed by an open dialogue with local stakeholders from various sectors in La Réunion, driving collective action towards resilient and sustainable water systems. All participants were delighted to exchange points of view and feedbacks from different European countries.
Day 3: Shaping the Future
Our final day began with an exploration of citizen engagement methods. Bertrand Vallet from EU DG RTD shared insights from our EU Green Week Partners event discussions. We then received updates from the GOVAQUA and RETOUCH NEXUS projects. The day concluded with discussions on Pilot Sites replication.
Three days of enriching discussions, valuable connections, and impactful outcomes!
